Flagstaff police say they were investigating the death of a man on Tuesday as a possible homicide.
Officers at about 8:25 a.m. responded to an area near Butler Avenue and San Francisco Street for a report of a man who was not breathing, said Flagstaff police spokesperson Sgt. Charles Hernandez II.
The man was unresponsive when officers arrived at the scene and was later declared dead after being taken to a hospital, Hernandez II said.
He was identified by police as 53-year-old Patrick Kerley.
Kerley’s death was being investigated by Flagstaff police as a possible homicide, according to Hernandez.
His cause of death would later be determined by the Coconino County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Anyone with information about the incident should call the Flagstaff Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit at (928) 774-1414 or Silent Witness at (928) 774-6111.
