Native Abstract: Flagstaff Women Soccer Routs Bradshaw Mountain, Eight-Zero – Arizona Each day Solar.

A year ago, Flagstaff had no problem winning tight games when the Eagles won all of their playoff games in tight, readjusted finals on the way to the 4A state tournament title.

But of course that's a different team. Some key players like keeper Lianna Albert are the same, but a new year brings new challenges: like relearning how to win tight games.

In Saturday's blowout win, five different Eagles found the back of the net. The Eagles scored three goals in five minutes in the first half, scoring goals from Kristen Wendtland, Cici Garcia and Hailey Schlenker.

The Eagles have scored two more goals before half-time, with goals from Lexi Taylor and Karina Fuhrmann. Taylor did it all on her own, mostly in the second half, with three goals in the last 10 minutes to cement her day with four goals.

Taylor scored a narrow goal with just 1:44 on the clock after an outlier to enforce the 8-0 grace rule.

The Eagles receive Lee Williams on Monday at 3 p.m.

Coconino allowed only one loss in a fall to host Payson and three of his wrestlers got away with pins to help the Panthers overthrow the Longhorns between 63-13 on Saturday.

At 195 pounds, Damingo Pimentel pinned his Payson opponent in 50 seconds, with the 132-pounder Michael Woods winning in 1:16 in the fall and the 138-pounder Cooper French counting his pin in 1:32.
