Police are searching for a 35-year-old man in connection to a shooting that left one wounded in Flagstaff early Saturday.

Flagstaff police responded to a report of a person shot near Country Club Drive and Cortland Boulevard shortly before 12:30 a.m. Saturday. There, they found an invidual with a gunshot wound to the leg.

The person was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries and Flagstaff police spokesman Sgt. Charles Hernandez said they were expected to survive.

Both witnesses and the victim identified the shooter as Pedro Herrera, according to Hernandez. Police believe he fled the scene of the shooting and may be in Flagstaff or Winslow.

Police say Herrera is considered armed and dangerous at this time and may be driving a black Ford Fusion with Arizona license plate CAC5290.

Anyone with information that may lead to Herrera’s arrest can contact the Flagstaff Police Department at 928-774-1414 or 928-774-6111 to remain anonymous.

A cash reward may also be available for information leading to Herrera’s arrest, according to Hernandez.
