The Nutcracker Suite in Trendy Naked Ft Film, Filmed in Flagstaff – Flagstaff Enterprise & On-line Information | Northern Arizona Native Newspaper – Flagstaff Enterprise Information

With the current pandemic and social restrictions, Canyon Movement Company has made a FILM of their Nutcracker Suite in Modern Bare Feet! This isn’t a live-stream of a stage production, it is a film of the show that has been created and produced all around Flagstaff over the past three months.

A professional movie is what you’ll find at Canyon Movement Company’s fifteenth production of the Nutcracker Suite in Modern Bare Feet this December.  Partnering with Canyon Dance Academy, Velocity Dance Company, Momentum Aerial and TenOne Productions, this is a show you won’t want to miss!

Come see the dancers as movie stars! Special effects, videography, updated choreography, new cast members and other surprises are in store. A cast of over 40 dancers, and aerial dance make this a great show this season!  This annual Flagstaff tradition uses music by Peter Tchaikovsky with some contemporary versions inserted among the traditional, and new choreographic interpretations lending a fresh look to this classical favorite.  Beautiful settings in Flagstaff bring this holiday favorite home and bring the holiday spirit into your home!

Watch it at home on Facebook Premier and/or YouTube with your family and friends! The film will be released December 12 at 7:00 pm and will be available until Christmas day. Viewing details will be available on our social media and website by Thursday December 10.

2020 has been a difficult year for the company as a non-profit performing company. They are asking for donations when you view the film. Suggested donations of $10 per person viewing. You can donate on our website https://canyonmovementcompany.org/cmc/support-us/

The party is set at Clara’s home here in Flagstaff, where friends and family come to celebrate.  Gifts are given, and Clara’s Godfather gives her a beautiful Nutcracker doll.  Clara’s little brother Fritz breaks the doll and Clara’s heart.  As Clara (Kayden Openshaw) sleeps, her dream becomes a magical fantasy in the most beautiful place in the world where authentic dancers from all over the world perform for her and her life-size Nutcracker prince: Arabian dancers, Russian Folk Dancers, Spanish Gypsy Flamenco, French street performers, and young Chinese dancers. This journey from childhood to adulthood is travelled in a unique and interesting way this holiday season.

Filming locations and support provided by the following: The Sweet Shoppe, Viola’s Flower Garden, The Golden Dragon Bowl, Momentum Aerial, The Weatherford Hotel, Canyon Dance Academy, Heritage Square, Buffalo Park, and a private residence.

This performance is supported in part by funds from the City of Flagstaff and Flagstaff Arts Council, the Arizona Commission on the Arts with funds from the National Endowment for the Arts, and private donors.
